VBISD Awarded $16,000 Grant to Expand Arts Access Across Van Buren County
The Van Buren Intermediate School District has been awarded $16,000 through the Michigan Arts and Culture Council to support an exciting new partnership with the South Haven Center for the Arts.
This investment will connect local artists with school districts and out-of-school-time programs across Van Buren County, bringing high-quality, hands-on art and music experiences directly to students. Through this initiative, students will explore creativity, build social-emotional skills, and deepen their engagement in meaningful, real-world learning.
This work reflects our ongoing commitment to providing equitable and enriching opportunities for every student. By leveraging strong community partnerships, we are expanding learning beyond the classroom and creating authentic experiences that inspire and empower.
This initiative is led by Erin Kucharski, coordinator of the Van Buren Youth Initiative, whose work continues to strengthen opportunities and connections for youth across the county. In addition, this collaboration deepens connections between schools and the broader community while supporting local artists as educators and mentors. It stands as a powerful example of how strategic partnerships can elevate both student success and community impact!
