The Van Buren Intermediate School District (VBISD) recently welcomed members of the Knights of Columbus, along with local law enforcement and fire service professionals, to BGLC for a memorable day of basketball and connection with students.

Students had the opportunity to hit the court alongside community heroes from the Michigan State Police, the Van Buren County Sheriff's Office, the Lawrence Township Police Department, and the Lawrence Township Fire Department. Throughout the day, the gym was filled with energy, laughter, and plenty of friendly competition as teams rotated through games and basketball challenges with the Knights of Columbus.

A highlight of the event was a spirited competition between the participating agencies, which added an extra level of excitement for students cheering from the sidelines. The friendly rivalry created a fun and engaging atmosphere while giving students the chance to interact with community members who serve and protect their neighborhoods.

Events like this help strengthen the connection between schools and the community while creating lasting memories for the students involved. By bringing students and local service professionals together in a relaxed and positive setting, VBISD continues to foster meaningful relationships that extend beyond the classroom.

VBISD extends its sincere thanks to the Knights of Columbus for helping coordinate this special event, as well as to the local agencies who took the time to participate and make the day such a success for students.
