Meal Distribution Food Safety Directions

We hope you enjoy the meals that we have provided for you through our Culinary Arts & Catering Management Program at the VBT. Food Safety is a priority and here are some things that will help you keep that food safe once you have received it to your home.

Please take a few moments to read the information below regarding the storage and preparation of your meals. If you have questions please contact Diana at 269-539-5310

 

Items meant to be consumed warm (pizza, burger, burrito, chicken patty, grilled cheese, etc.)

Keep Products Frozen until ready to thaw and use-Some items are cooked from frozen state.

Heat using instructions below. Consume within 4 hours of heating or discard.

 

Macaroni & Cheese Pouch
Preparation and Cooking Instructions

Microwave = From frozen, CUT a 1/2" slit in pouch to vent. PLACE pouch in microwave oven, slit side up. HEAT on high power for 1 1/2 to 3 1/2 minutes. HOLD pouch by ONE corner. Cut across top. Plate.

Beef Taco Sticks, Frozen Individually Wrapped

Basic Preparation

Thawing is required before heating. Place product on a bun pan and cook until internal temperature of 160F is achieved. Conventional Oven: 300F 18-20 minutes / Convection Oven: 275F 18-20 minutes.

PLACE FROZEN PIZZAS IN 18"X26"X1/2" LIGHTLY GREASED BUN PANS. CONVECTION OVEN: 350F FOR 15 TO 17 MINUTES. CONVENTIONAL OVEN: 400F FOR 16 TO 19 MINUTES. REFRIGERATE OR DISCARD ANY UNUSED PORTION

ONE SERVING: 1. Remove pizza from clear overwrap. 2. Place frozen pizza on microwave safe plate. 3. Place in center of microwave and cook on HIGH for 2 minutes 30 seconds to 3 minutes. Pizza is done when all cheese is melted. Due to variances in oven regulators and number of pizzas in an oven, cooking time and temperature may require adjustments.
