VBISD is pleased to introduce our new Director of Instructional Services, Melissa Corona.
Melissa has recently assumed the role of Director of Instructional Services, following a successful 6.5-year tenure as the Principal at Pullman Elementary. Known for her dedication to building meaningful relationships with students, families, and staff, Melissa has been a driving force behind the enhancement of educational opportunities through innovative systems, schedules, initiatives, and research-based instructional programs.
With a career focused on at-risk students in Van Buren County, for over 16 years, Melissa brings valuable administrative and teaching experience at both elementary and secondary levels. This hands-on experience has given her a profound understanding of the unique challenges faced by students and educators, coupled with a keen awareness of the essential initiatives required to address the highest needs within the educational system.
Looking forward, Melissa is poised to continue supporting school districts within Van Buren County, providing leadership in academic areas such as literacy and math, along with social-emotional support. Her unwavering commitment to educational excellence and student well-being remains at the forefront of her professional endeavors.
