Level: Introductory, Intermediate, Advanced, AP Computer Science credit and/or College Credit

Computer programmers write code to create software programs. In this class, students can choose to focus on computer programming, game design, and/or website development. Learn programming languages such as Python, Visual Basic, Java, C#, and C++, or learn web languages including HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and PHP. Advanced students can develop 2D/3D Games, Android Apps, Apple Apps, and even games for the Xbox 360. Eligible students who take and pass the AP test receive AP Computer Science credit and students have many dual enrollment options through Davenport University and Lake Michigan College.

  • Programming languages such as Visual Basic, Java, C, C++, C#, Objective C and Python
  • Website creation using HTML, XHTML, CSS, PHP, ASP, SQL, and JavaScript
  • Modeling and animation software like AutoDesk Maya and Adobe Flash as part of software development
  • Game or program creation for Windows or the XBox 360
  • Mobile App Development for Android, Apple iOS, and Windows Mobile
  • 3D Game Engines like Unity or Unreal
  • Robotics Programming with Mindstorms, LabVIEW, and Robot C
  • Microprocessor Programming with Arduino
  • Advanced Placement (AP) Computer Science credit for students studying Java
  • College curriculum (Direct Credit/Dual Enrollment)
  • Certification available: Microsoft Certified Technology Specialist (MCTS), Certified Internet Web Professional (CIW), Oracle Certified Java Associate
