Beginning in the fall of 2021, Van Buren Tech will welcome students to our new Dental Occupations program. This one-year program provides concentrated work in the dental office. Students will become proficient in chariside dental assisting and all aspects of the dental office. Some of the skills that will be taught included filling a cavity, doing sealants, whitening teeth, learning tooth names and numbers, performing sterilization, medical terminology and medical math. The class involves participation in a non-paid work-based learning experience where eligible students will go to dental offices. Students who are 18 years old by the end of the school year may test to receive x-ray certification. High school credit is available through our CTE programs. Click here for our academic credit guide. College credit is also available to qualifying students. Articulation information for Dental Occupations will be coming soon.
