College/University Degree Programs
The Van Buren Intermediate School District serves as a site to offer
certificate and master’s degree programs from Grand Valley State
University. We began offering Grand Valley programming back in the winter
of 1996.
Beginning with the Nursing program at Grand Valley, we had a number of
students complete their BSN, MSN, or Nurse Practitioner programs. Many of
these nurses drove over an hour to attend the classes, which were much
closer than the drive would have been to Grand Rapids or Allendale, where
the GVSU classes were.
Currently, the classes offered are for Elementary Education, Preprimary
Impaired, and Early Childhood Development. They can either lead to a
Master’s Degree, or to certification only for qualified students. |
