Objective:  My short-term goal is to become a Competency Evaluated Nurse Aid (C.E.N.A.).  My long-term goal is to earn my Bachelors in Nursing.

Education

• 1996 to Present - Marcellus High School, Marcellus,MI
  Will graduate in June of 2000.
• 1999 to Present - Van Buren Technology Center, Lawrence, MI
• C.E.N.A. Certification Pending
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation Certification Pending
• First Aid Skills Pending
  I am currently learning 51 basic skills that a C.E.N.A. must know.  These skills include basic patient care, patient transporting and Universal precautions to name a few.

Work Experience

• Day Care - Peggy Wilson, Marcellus, MI
  Jan. 1994 to Present 
  I took care of one child and I did household chores such as dishes, laundry and several other types of housework.
• Clerical - Advanced Occupational Medicine, Kalamazoo, MI
  Jul 1999 to Aug. 1999
  Performed general office duties including filing, paperwork, patient charts and answering phones.
• Job Shadowing  - Lakeview Community Hospital (ER), Paw Paw, MI
  November 3, 1999
   I followed 2 emergency room nurses around for a day and I got a little bit of hands on experience.  

Volunteer experience

• 1998 to 1999 - United Methodist Church,  Marcellus, M
  I taught Sunday School and Bible School.
• Oct. 1999 - Health Occupations Students of America,  Lawrence, MI
  Helped with a Winter Warm Up Drive to get clothes for the needy.  I will be helping with the Christmas Cheer Project for the long-term care facilities the Winter of 1999.

Extracurricular activities

• I have done Varsity cheer for 3 seasons of boy’s basketball in the winter of 1997, 1998 and 1999.
• I have played Varsity soccer for 2 seasons in the fall of 1998 and 1999.
• I have played JV softball for 2 seasons in the spring of 1996 and 1997.  I played 1 season of Varsity softball for 1 season in the spring of 1998.
• I played girl’s basketball for 2 season in the fall of 1996 and 1997.

Clubs

• I am a member of the National Thespian Honor Society.
• I am a member of the Spanish Honor Society.
• I am a member of the Health Occupations Students of America (H.O.S.A.).

Awards received

• I received Perfect Attendance for the 1998-1999 school year.
• I received Honorable Mention for our high school athletic conference in Varsity cheer in 1997.
• I received an award from the Who’s Who Among American High School Students in 1996-1997 and in 1997-1998 school years.
• I received the United States National Mathematics Award in 1998-1999 school year for my achievements in math.
• I earned all four of my MEAP endorsements and I received a scholarship for this accomplishment. My endorsements are in reading, math, science, and writing.
• I have been on Honor Roll for all 4 years of high school.
