Enrollment Information

Electro-Mechanical

The Electro-Mechanical program instructs students in the principles of electricity, electronics, problem- solving, and troubleshooting.  Students use computers for instruction, word processing and testing.  With computer aided instruction, students progress through the courses limited only by their abilities.

In electronics, students learn direct (DC) and alternating (AC) current theory.  Concurrently, students learn to use general purpose test equipment, read schematic diagrams, amplifier circuits, field effect transistors (FETs), and other more complex circuits.  Emphasis is placed on troubleshooting and problem-solving, moving from simple to advanced exercises.  As students progress from the basic to the more advanced areas of electronics, they begin training in more specialized areas such as robotics, machine repair, and programmable controllers.  Hands-on training is the keystone to this curriculum.
