Job Placement > School to Work

The intention of the School-To-Work Program is to provide area students with the opportunity to experience the working world as active participants.  The program benefits students by providing supervised school-to-work experience, high school credit and wages.  The employment must be related to the student's career interest.

Students selected to participate in this program are NOT enrolled in vocation programs and therefore not eligible for Co-op status.

In order for a student to participate in this program, there must be initial agreement to the school-to-work participation by:

  1. The Student

  2. The Parent

  3. The High School Counselor

  4. The Employer

  5. The Placement Coordinator

If the local school decided to place a student on a school-to-work experience that does NOT align with career interest or is not considered part of their school day schedule, then a designee from the local school will complete all paperwork and monitor students during the school year.

If you are interested in the Un-Paid School to Work Program , you must first contact a VBTC Job Placement coordinator.
