Job Placement > Cooperative Education

After students have developed technical skills in a VBTC Program, they may be recommended for a paid work experience.  To be recommended they also need to have 90% attendance for the last 30 days prior to placement.  The purpose of the employment experience is to reinforce skills students have learned in the program.  Students may be required to return to their programs for a specified amount of time for related instruction.  There is a formal written agreement between the school, employers, and the student.  Frequently, coop experiences turn into opportunities for employment after graduation or sponsorships for apprenticeships for students that demonstrate good work and dependability skills.

If you are interested in the Cooperative Education Program , you must first contact a VBTC Job Placement coordinator.
