2007 Technical Assistance Guide for Special Education Compliance > About this Guide

We hope the Guide contains helpful:

  • content - quick access, topical organization, about 300 mb of Adobe PDF, Word, and PowerPoint files.  Anybody want to adopt a topic to help us track content?
  • connections – to people, information sources:
    • web pages - state/federal/ISD sources, professional organizations, updates from the Oakland Schools (see below)
    • staff directories - from CEN, MDE, etc.

Toward meeting our needs, the goal is to provide an information tool that is:

  • free, easy to use
  • easily distributed and customizable for local policies/procedures, forms, reports, PAC versions, etc.
  • portable - sized so that it can be easily downloaded
  • diverse – key state/federal/professional organization sources and user contributions; all in a single collection, which therefore is…
  • searchable - using the search functions of Word, Adobe, Windows, or search functions in other common software
  • minimally designed – easy upkeep, customization with common software, minimal technical requirements…less is more…
  • evolving – as our roles, regulations, information base continues to change at an accelerating pace
  • owned by you – PLEASE contact us with ideas, contributions, suggestions about what works, what doesn’t, what’s missing, etc.
  • …did we mention it’s free?
