Scholarship Opportunities
The following scholarships are offered through a competitive application process to Van Buren County students and/or students who attend a Van Buren County high school. Applications for these scholarships will be available on the Kalamazoo Community Foundation's Web site, http://www.kalfound.org, at least two months before the application deadline.
Please note: Students attendung Van Buren County high schools, but who reside in Kalamazoo County may be eligible for other scholarships that we administer.
Criteria: Graduating high school senior or graduate of Paw Paw High School; planning to enroll or already enrolled full or part time in a technical, trade school or two-or-four-year community college or university; enrolled in a course of study that will lead to a career in a technical field; minimum 2.0 GPA; demonstration of extracurricular or community volunteer activities and work experience.
Deadline: March 31
Criteria: Van Buren County resident who is a graduating semior or graduate, or who is graduating or graduated from a Van Buren County high school; enrolled or planning to enroll full time in a bachelor's degree program at the University of Michigan or Western Michigan University in education or Mathematics; minimum 2.75 GPA for graduating high school seniors and undergraduates; financial need or Van Buren County resident who is a graduating senior or graduate, or who is graduating or graduated from a Van Buren county high school. Enrolled in the College of Veterinary Medicine or Veterinary Technology program at Michigan State University; minimum 3.0 GA for graduate students; financial need.

Criteria: Graduating high school senior who is a resident of Van Buren County; planning to enroll full time in a bachelor's degree program at a four-year college or university; minimum 3.5 GPA; participation in extracurricular activities; financial need.
Award: One or more awards of a minimum of $500
Deadline: March 31
Criteria: Graduating high school senior who is the son or daughter of an employee of the Welch's Company located in Lawton, MI, or the son or daughter of a National Grape Cooperative member residing in Allegan, Berrien, Calhoun, Cass, Kalamazoo, Kent or Van Buren County; planning to attend an accredited vocational or technical school or two-or four-year college or university full time; demonstration of extra curricular and community involvement; minimum 2.0 GPA through the first half of the senior year.
