Van Buren Technology Center

Articulated Credit

Don't feel that you've missed out if you didn't get in on the dual enrollment credit.  There are still more possibilities with articulated credit!

GraduateWhat is articulated credit?  It is another opportunity for students to receive college credit through CTE programs at the Technology Center; only this time, credit is awarded by the participating college/university after high school graduation!  The college/university will award credit based on what you have learned through your Technology Center program, then basically "sign off" on their corresponding course(s).  On your college transcript, you won't receive a letter grade for those classes, just credit for the class.

The amount of credit that you earn depends on the college and the program that you take at the Tech Center.  For example, in the Business Services Cluster, a total of 63 credits can be acquired through Davenport University, and 35 through Kalamazoo Valley Community College.

Please Note: some colleges may still charge tuition for the classes you are given credit for; BUT, you will save time and can graduate from college a year or more earlier than your classmates, giving you a head start on your career!

Once you are accepted to one of the participating colleges/universities, contact your program instructor to find out what you need to qualify for articulated credit and the steps required to complete the articulation of a specific course or courses within your program area.  Each of the participating colleges/universities may have different requirements for articulation.

The colleges/universities that participate in articulated credit include:

Almost all the programs at Van Buren Technology Center offer articulated credit  through one of the above listed colleges.  Not all programs articulate to every college.  See your Tech Center instructor to find out which colleges/universities offer articulation for YOUR program or  see the secretary for  the Administrator for Curriculum, Instruction, and Professional Development for more information.
