It is the mission of the Technology Services department to provide effective leadership in the implementation and administration of Information Technology systems, networking infrastructure, and telecommunications systems, for the VBISD as well as in support of our constituent school districts. The Technology Services department is dedicated to providing prompt and professional service by a staff trained in system analysis, network design, troubleshooting network traffic issues, and security. In addition, they are responsible for the overall operations of all voice, video, and data network services for the Van Buren Intermediate School District.
Major functions are to:
Host meetings of local school district technology staff
Manage video bridge for videoconferencing
Manage Local Area Network (LAN) systems resource applications
Manage Wide Area Network (WAN) systems
Manage CISCO VoIP system
Implement distance learning program technologies
Develop IT purchasing collaboratives
Coordinate with ISD programming staff
